Pastoral installation services were held on Sunday, Feb. 3, at Bolivar First Assembly of God for the church’s newly elected pastor, the Rev. Hutson Goza Jr.
“An installation service is a ceremony to solidify the church congregation’s election of a new pastor," Goza said, according to a news release from the church. “It was a great honor to have Rev. Don Miller, district superintent of the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God lay hands on me in prayer as I lead this congregation.”
The release said Goza, his wife Marci and their son Aaron came to Bolivar in December from Louisiana, where Goza had served as district secretary-treasurer and founder-director of the Louisiana District School of Ministry for the past seven years. Before that, he was elected to serve the Louisiana District of the Assemblies of God as Christian education — discipleship and men’s ministry director.
The Gozas also served as lead pastors at First Assembly of God in Dyer, Tennessee, and at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, now Healing Place, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The release said Goza spoke about looking to the future.
“As we begin a new season here at Bolivar First Assembly of God, my greatest desire is to lead believers to become a Spiritually healthy and mature Christians and to reach the unchurched for Christ,” he said.
