The University of Missouri Extension, along with the Regional Arthritis Foundation, will offer a six-week course for adults living with a chronic condition and their family members and caregivers.  

The course will provide practical tips, suggestions, strategies and skills to manage chronic conditions on a daily basis while doing the things the individuals need and want to do.  It will also help attendees develop skills to deal with treatment and chronic conditions.  

The program includes:

  • How to manage symptoms
  • Working with health care teams
  • Setting weekly goals
  • Better communication
  • Tips for eating well
  • Tips for safe and easy exercise

The course will be taught by Mary Sebade, MU Extension county engagement specialist, nutrition and health, and Amy Bartels, MU Extension human development specialist, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays for six weeks beginning Feb. 12  at the Polk County Senior Center, 1850 W Broadway St., Bolivar.
