Historic Bolivar Speedway will honor first responders Friday night, Sept. 14. The speedway will have free entry for all dispatchers, EMS, fire fighters, police officers, sheriff's department officers, state highway patrol officers and corrections officers. Entrants must have an ID for free entry.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by hot laps at 7 and features afterward.

Races classes for the week include 30-lap Kart Races and the Boots & Badges Race. Classes featured include Limited Late Models/Big 10 Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stock and Chargers.

Lucas returns with Pro Pulling Nationals

The biggest, baddest trucks and tractors in the land converge on Lucas Oil Speedway this weekend for two nights sure to awe spectators who love pure horsepower.

It's the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Nationals on Friday and Saturday night, Sept. 14 and 15, as the infield in front of the main grandstand is transformed into a pulling area for the powerhouse machines. Gates open at 4 p.m. both days with pulling set to begin at 7.

Classes scheduled to be in action on Friday include the Light Weight Super Stock Tractors, Mini Rod Tractors, Limited Pro Stock Diesel Trucks and Limited Pro Stock Tractors. On Saturday, classes include Super Modified  Tractors, Unlimited Super Stock Tractors, Super Farm Tractors, Super Modified 2WD Trucks, Pro Modified 4WD Trucks and 10,000 Pro Stock Tractors.

"The fans always love this event, whether they are hardcore pulling fans who follow this type of motorsports, or those who are seeing it for the first time," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said in a news release. "These trucks and tractors really are remarkable to see - plus it's shaping up as a great weather weekend so it'll be a lot of fun."

Fans also are reminded that it's just one more week until the Eighth Annual ASCS Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial for Lucas Oil ASCS Sprints and WAR Sprints. A $10,000 pay day awaits the ASCS Sprints feature winner on night three.
