What started as a report of indecent exposure at Bolivar’s Dunnegan Memorial Park ended with a man from Halfway arrested on drug-related charges over the weekend.
According to a news release from the Bolivar Police Department, officers were dispatched to the park at around 3 p.m., Saturday, July 7, for two reports of a man exposing himself — one of a man naked in a restroom and one of a man “walking around the park in his underwear.”
The release said officers located a man, Timothy Cowden, 42, of Halfway, in his underwear near the bathroom at the north end of the park. A maroon car was nearby, the release said.
While one officer spoke with Cowden, another officer saw what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in plain view in the car. Cowden told officers the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to him, the release said.
Cowden was taken to Polk County Jail and charged with class D felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released on $7,500 bond and is due in court July 11, according to online court records.
Officers D. Lankford and C. McConnell investigated this incident.
