Bolivar's Matthew Murray was the co-champion of the Midwest USGA Mid-Amateur at Oakwood Country Club in Kansas City Monday, Aug. 6.

Murray tied Brad Nurski of St. Joseph with a five-under 67. Also advancing was third-place finisher Kory Bowman of Springfield, after his four-under 68. They bested a field of over 60 golfers.

On the women's side, Martha Linscott of Mission Hills, Kansas, took top honors with a two-over 74. Pam Simpson of Kansas City also advanced to nationals with a nine-over 81. The women's tournament had six competitors.

The U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships is Sept. 22-27, at Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Televisoin coverage will be on FS1 Sept. 26 and 27.
