Pleasant Hope woman killed in wreck Tuesday afternoon

A Pleasant Hope woman died after her vehicle crashed with a school bus at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, on Rt. H 1 mile south of Pleasant Hope.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Tracy L. Bauer, 45, of Pleasant Hope, was pronounced dead at the scene by Polk County Coroner Roy Harms.

Bauer was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup on Rt. H when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, skidded out of control and was hit broadside by a 2000 GMC schoolbus.

The driver of the school bus, Wilfred S. Hardiman, 61, of Buffalo, received moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was wearing a seat belt.

Bauer was not wearing a seat belt.
