Sales tax revenues improve

Polk County’s year-to-date sales tax collections are slightly down now that January revenues are in, but collections are up for the month in the county and in the city of Bolivar. The city’s year-to-date collections are pointing slightly up as well.

    Maybe some people will see that if you just advertise and promote our local business good things will happen. The issue I see is the city finances need to be watched as far as spending! The tax base is there, just control the spending. People love shopping Bolivar! Stop the lawsuits, frivolous spending, high salaries, etc; and we will grow more... Just my opinion. Lets actually manage the city.
