Halfway softball finished second to host Weaubleau Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Weaubleau Tournament. The Lady Cardinals advanced to the title game with wins over Montrose and Wheatland before falling to the top-seeded Lady Tigers.

Fall softball starts this weekend with Polk County teams hitting the diamond with tournaments at Humansville and Morrisville. Five county teams play this fall, with Pleasant Hope moving their softball season to the spring only.

The National Federation of High School Athletic Associations released its rule changes for the 2018 fall sports season. A number of changes were made for football, volleyball, softball and soccer.
