Living History Tour – Greenwood Cemetery 2026
Join the Polk County Genealogical Society for a historical stroll at Greenwood Cemetery, Saturday, October 24. Tours start at 10 a.m. and leave every half hour with the last tour departing at 12:30 p.m. There is no charge for the tours, but donations are accepted.
- Dr. Richard Winn – presented by Jo Christian. Learn about his 15 minutes of fame.
- James J. Akard – presented by Dusty Ross. Hear why he carried a bullet in the right hip till he died.
- Metta Senter Juvenal – presented by Mark Sparks. Discover the life of an exhibition boxer.
- Charles Bastion – presented by Cay Sergent. Explore the life of a French gentleman and his involvement in the Spanish American War.
- Jefferson Nichols – presented by Fire Chief Brent Watkins. Investigate why his tombstone is unique.
- Greenwood Cemetery is located at 411 S. Dunnegan Avenue, Bolivar.
