The Missouri Retired Teachers Association raises money each year to present $500 grants to Missouri Public School teachers. This year grants were awarded in Bolivar to Erica Nystrom at the Parson’s Early Childhood Center and Emily Hood at the Bolivar Middle School by the region six MRTA vice president, Anita Hartley, and the local unit of the Polk County Retired School Personnel president, Jodie Young and vice president, Nita Cornell. All public school teachers and support staff are encouraged to apply for these grants each spring. The grant forms are found online at MRTA.org.
