The choices will be either a small spray placed by the stone or a saddle placed over the top of the stone. The cost for the saddle is $50 and the bouquet is $20. Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The church was organized on April 17, 1874 with 18 members, in southeast Polk County. The first church building was built in 1877, but the exact location is unclear. In 1893, the land where the church currently sits was purchased for $50 and a church house was built by men in the community. In its early years, the church’s records detail several great revivals, resulting in more than 15 baptisms each. more

Thursday, April 4, the Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at the new CMH Health and Wellness Clinic. The clinic provides wellness visits for patients without a primary care provider and hospital transitional care services for patients without primary care support. The clinic is located at 2520 South Springfield Avenue, Suite A in Bolivar. more
