Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club played host Friday, April 12, to the annual Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce golf tournament.

This year’s event was the largest in the tournament’s history, according to a news release. 

The annual event is an opportunity for networking and supports the programs, activities and assistance given to Chamber members, as well as the Bolivar community, the release said.

“We typically host the golf tournament as an afternoon event,” Chamber President Jared Taylor said in the release. “We were blown away by the response and interest in playing this year and opened up a morning tee time to accommodate the 40 teams that wanted to play.” 

Taylor said the tournament drew in players from across the region. 

In the tournament’s championship flight, Team Jeff Johnsen prevailed, shooting a 57, the release said. Medley Appraisal took second with 59. Absolute Fitness shot 60 for third, while Mid-Missouri Bank No. 2 was fourth with 60.

The Bolivar Herald-Free Press won the A flight, shooting 65, according to the release. Bank of Bolivar was second, also with 65.OakStar Bank shot 65 for third, while Lakeland Office Systems shot 65 for fourth. 

In the B flight, Mid-Missouri Bank No. 1 shot  71 for the win. Each of the top four teams shot 71, according to the release. The Marketing Bunch was second. Douglas, Haun and Heidemann was third, while Reynolds Insurance took fourth.   

Tiebreakers were used to determine final placements. 

“Congratulations to our tournament winners and players,” Taylor said in the release. “Thanks to our sponsors for their commitment to helping the Bolivar area grow. We’ll see everyone next year.”
