The Walnut Street Theatre Association will present the well-loved play, “Steel Magnolias,” next week

The directorial debut of Britaney Leonard, “Steel Magnolias” is a stage play by American writer Robert Harling, based on his experience with his sister's death. The play is a comedy-drama about the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana. The title suggests the "female characters are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel,”according to a WST news release.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 11-13, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

Doors for seating will open 30 minutes prior to performances. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up and $5 for ages 3 to 12. Thursday evening preview performance tickets are half price.
