Charles “Chuck” Robert Jones passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, in Kabul, Afghanistan, at the age of 61. 

He was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, on Oct. 18 1957, and is from the Lumbee Indian Tribe. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Lula Jones, and his granddaughter Brynlee Mae Jones. 

He leaves behind his wife, Kimberly Jones, son Brannon Jones and daughter Jenna Jones of the home; three sisters, Selena, Jennifer and Vicki; and three brothers, Roman, Lynn and Ronnie. 

He stayed in monthly contact with his sister Fannie and husband Chuck White of Rowland, North Carolina. 

He served as a police officer in Lumberton, North Carolina, prior to joining the U.S. Army during the 1980s. For the past 10 years, he has supported the U.S. Armed Forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan combat zones as a civilian contractor for Lockheed-Martin. 

His family brought him so much joy, and he cherished the time spent with them. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. A service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
