Mrs. Connie Mace, 75, of Flemington passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. She was born Dec. 31, 1943, to Floyd Washington and Jean (DeVol) Heaslet.
Connie was united in marriage to Thomas Mace on June 10, 1961, in Auzsa, California, and to this union three children were born.
Thomas for the last few years was dependent upon Connie up until his death Feb. 4, 2019. Thomas was a self-taught gunsmith, a very hard worker and found it very hard to be dependent upon anyone after having worked countless hours over the years in his gun shop and as a machinist for Pachmayer.
Connie had a love for animals and her family; she was a selfless person. She enjoyed roses and hummingbirds. When she shot guns, she was a good shot, and had to be to run the gun shop.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Thomas Mace; a grandson Jason Ruesch; a granddaughter Madison Mace; and two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her three children: Tammy Ruesch and husband Mike of Bolivar, Linda Heathman of Flemington, and Thomas Mace, Jr. and his wife Kristina of Temecula, California; 11 grandchildren and 5 1/2 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
According to Connie’s wishes, her body will be cremated. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
