Richard Henry Greven of Bolivar went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the age of 73.
Richard was born Aug. 17, 1945, in Adrian, Minnesota, to the late Garrit and Marjorie Greven.
He graduated from Boonville, Arkansas, and moved to Bolivar in 1963, where he then joined the Army Reserve and met his beautiful wife, Susan Shadwick, in 1964.
Richard started his 35 years of employment in 1965 at Kraft Foods in Springfield, and he and Susan were married in 1966.
They were blessed with two children, Kevin and Gregory Greven.
Richard was so loved and will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Susan Lee Greven; son Kevin Greven and wife Tonya; grandsons Daulton Greven and significant other Alexis O’Reilly, Gregory and Cooper Greven; granddaughter Payton Bramel; great-grandsons Nash and Grayson Greven, and Julian O’Reilly-Castillo; brother-in-law Steve Shadwick and wife Sara; nieces Stephanie Shadwick and fiance Nicholas Cloyd, Jennifer Lindsey and husband Rusty; along with many other loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his beloved son Gregory Scott Greven.
There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
