Polk County Christian School will be celebrating Veterans Day again with a special program. They are inviting veterans in their PCCS families as well as other veterans in the community to join them on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m. This will be a time of celebration, as well as a time to remind students and guests about the importance of our veterans.

The Sew ‘N’ Sew Quilt Guild will meet Friday, Oct. 20, at 9:30 a.m. at the Butterfield Nursing Home to give a trunk show of two quilts from each member. There will be a drawing for one lucky resident for a quilt donated by the guild. We will return to the Methodist Church to continue showing our quilts and telling why they are our favorites. In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Pleasant Hope R-VI will conduct a meeting to consult with parents about the process to identify children who are parentally placed that might have a disability will be held on Oct. 20, at 8 a.m. During this meeting participants will be asked to provide input about how funds should be allocated for individuals who live in our district and have a disability, but do not attend the school. This year’s meeting will be held in the District Office Board Room located at 100 W. Cowden, Pleasant Hope.
