The Bolivar R-1 school board walked through the construction site of the district’s Early Childhood Learning Center on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

A project manager spoke to the board about the site’s features, including colorful classrooms, slanted classroom ceilings to allow as much natural light as possible and a state-certified emergency shelter.

The district hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction site on Sept. 4, 2019.

The Early Childhood Learning Center, an estimated $5.5 million facility, is now being constructed on district land east of the intermediate and primary schools.

The facility’s initial plans include 12 classrooms, offices and a multipurpose room, which will help to accommodate a trending rise in student numbers, according to previous BH-FP coverage.
