Members of Bolivar’s Disabled American Veterans chapter gathered on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14, to celebrate the 245th anniversary of the U.S. Army, as well as to respectfully retire damaged or dirtied U.S. flags collected from the community. U.S. flag code requires flags that “are no longer a fitting emblem of display should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”
