The community finally has an answer to a question for the ages — “Save it or shave it?”

In a landslide, with over $3,700 going toward Team Shave It, Bolivar City Fire Department Chief Jim Ludden lost his signature handlebar mustache Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the hands of Bolivar Primary School students Gibson Sanders and Greyson Hardesty and barber Jared Wollard at Modern Barber Shop in downtown Bolivar.

The BPS students grabbed some scissors and helped trim the ‘stache on behalf of Woods Supermarket, which was the highest bidder in an auction to earn the honor.

Ludden, Sanders and Hardesty then jumped in a firetruck for a trip to Sonic.

In all, the fundraiser raised around $5,100 for Keeling Foundation for Kids.
