The following new felony charges have been filed in Polk County Circuit Court:

Jade Nicole Stillwell, born 2001, Flemington; class D felony possession of controlled substance; warrant served; $7,500 bond; due in court May 29. 

Terry Lee Fryman, 45, Bolivar; class E felony resisting arrest; warrant served; $25,000 bond; due in court June 26. 

Michael D. Curtis, born 1979, Ash Grove; class D felony non-support total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments; warrant issued; $500 bond. 

Mark Hatcher, born 1976, Nixa; class E felony resisting arrest; warrant issued; $15,000 bond. 

Bradey Matthew Mann, born 2000, Bolivar; class D felony second-degree burglary; summons issued; due in court July 10. 

Derek Joseph Frieben, born 1987, Humansville; class D felony stealing — $750 or more; summons issued; due in court July 10. 

Terry Lee Fryman, 45, Bolivar; class E felony tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution; warrant issued; $15,000 bond. 

CIRCUIT COURT ACTIONS

The following actions were taken last week in Polk County Circuit Court. Dollar amounts listed are for fines only; court costs are in addition to the fine. Amended charges were amended by the prosecutor.

Cases heard by Associate Circuit Judge John C. Porter:

Joey Russell Bergthold, Columbia, born 1974; probation violation; probation revoked and ordered to serve previously suspended one 4-year and two 7-year prison sentences with possibility of probation following completion of shock incarceration. Bergthold was originally placed on probation in 2015 for class D felony violation of order of protection and two counts class C felony possession of controlled substance.

Cases heard by Associate Circuit Judge Elizabeth V. Rohrs:

Christy M. Burk, Brookfield, born 1982; probation violation; probation revoked and ordered to serve previously suspended 10 year prison sentence. Brookfield was originally placed on probation in 2015 for class B felony distribute/deliver/manufacture/produce a controlled substance.

Cases heard by Circuit Judge Michael O. Hendrickson:

Christopher Thomas Myrick Jr., Bolivar, born 2000; class E felony first-degree property damage, class D felony second-degree burglary and stealing; four years, seven years and five years in prison, respectively, with possibility of probation pending successful completion of institutional substance abuse treatment program.

Chelsea Renee Marie Ramon, Bolivar, born 1994; class D felony possession of controlled substance; suspended imposition of sentence, five years supervised probation.

Lela Mae Reed, Mt. Vernon, born 1981; class D felony possession of controlled substance; suspended imposition of sentence, five years supervised probation.

  • Christina Sloan, 33, was arrested on a warrant for driving while revoked/suspended and possession of marijuana.
  • Alisha Prater, 31, of Buffalo was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
  • Crystal Latiker, 38, of Bolivar was arrested on suspicion of attempting to steal and burglary.
  • A 46-year-old Pleasant Hope man was arrested on suspicion of property damage.
  • Deanna Walker, 30, of Independence was arrested on a warrant for failure to affix motor vehicle/trailer plates and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
  • A 31-year-old Pleasant Hope woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
  • A 45-year-old Bolivar man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest.
  • Deputies responded to South 218th and East 443rd roads for a pursuit.
  • Deputies responded to the 1000 block of East Maple Street for a dispute in progress.
  • Deputies responded to Rt. D and East 360th Road for child endangerment.

COMMISSION MINUTES

According to the minutes, Polk County Commissioners Shannon Hancock, Rex Austin and Kyle Legan conducted the following business during recent meetings of the commission:

Monday, May 13

  • Hancock, Legan and Austin present.
  • Minutes of last session approved.
  • April 2019 collector’s turnover was received from Collector Debbi McGinnis.
  • Legan made a motion to approve and pay invoices Hancock seconded. Call of the vote: Hancock-yes, Legan-yes, Austin-absent.
  • Public Works Supervisor Danny Crites updated the commission on the condition of county roads.  Crites, Hancock and Legan viewed East 318th, South 124th and South 136th roads.
  • Appointment of John Castrodale, reserve deputy, was received from Sheriff Danny Morrison and approved by Circuit Judge Michael O. Hendrickson. 

Tuesday, May 14

  • Hancock, Legan and Austin present.
  • Minutes of last session approved.
  • Emergency Management Director Robert Dickson and maintenance supervisor James Hamby visited with the commission in general discussion.
  • The 2019 CART agreement was received from Bolivar Special Road District.

Friday, May 17

  • Hancock, Legan and Austin present.
  • Minutes of last session approved.
  • The commission met with IT consultant Alan Simpson, Marketing Bunch representatives Linda Bunch and Tara Akins regarding the progression of the county website.
  • The commission discussed applying for a .gov domain. Legan made a motion to have County Clerk Melinda Robertson submit the appropriate paperwork for that process. Hancock seconded the motion. Call of the vote: Hancock- yes, Legan-yes, Austin-absent.
  • Crites and Austin viewed  East 455th, East 460th, South 92nd, East 480th and South 160th Roads.
