Smith named Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen

A Bolivar teen took home the title of Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen Friday, June 14, at the Missouri Military Academy.  

According to a contest news release, after a week of preliminary competition in fitness, talent and interviews, the judges crowned Miss Branson’s Outstanding Teen Shae Smith.

The 15-year-old is the daughter of Mark and Angie Smith and is a student at Bolivar High School. 

For the talent portion of the contest, Smith performed a jazz dance to the song, “September,” the release said.

Her platform — “One Miracle at a Time, One Dollar at a Time” — encourages people from across Missouri to donate small amounts to The Children’s Miracle Network. 

As Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen, Smith will receive a $6,000 scholarship, as well as a prize package, the release said.  

This week, she will begin preparations for the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition in Orlando later this summer.
