Keith “Gene” Hudson, 96, of Aldrich passed away Friday, May 17, 2019.
Gene, the son of Louis Hudson and Eula Burnham Hudson, was born in Poplar Bluff on April 26, 1923.
On Oct. 26, 1941, Gene and Eula “Chris” Crook were united in marriage and shared over 77 years together.
Gene faithfully served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
After his time in the service, he went to work for Culligan Water Softener, retiring after 31 years as the plant manager.
After retirement, Gene and his family moved to the Aldrich area. They loved the area and were active in Eudora Baptist Church, where Gene served as deacon since 1981. Gene enjoyed farming and his 1941 John Deere Tractor.
Gene will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Oscar Hudson.
Gene is survived by his wife, Chris Hudson, sons Douglas Hudson and wife Carol of Idaho and Charles Hudson and wife Renee of Walnut Grove, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Doris Sena, other family and friends.
A funeral was Tuesday, May 21, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Homes in Walnut Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Gene’s name to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery or Eudora Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
