CIRCUIT COURT ACTIONS

The following actions were taken last week in Polk County Circuit Court. Dollar amounts listed are for fines only; court costs are in addition to the fine. Amended charges were amended by the prosecutor.

Cases heard by Associate Circuit Judge Elizabeth V. Rohrs:

Emilee Kristen Meyer, 22, Kansas City; class C felony possession of controlled substance; guilty plea June 6, 2016; sentenced Oct. 2 to five years in prison with credit for time served. Meyer pleaded guilty June 6, 2016, but failed to appear for some court hearings and was sentenced by Polycom Oct. 2 for possession of meth on Oct. 30, 2015, at the county jail during booking.

Cases heard by Circuit Judge Michael O’Brien Hendrickson:

Eathaniel John Lee, 18, Bolivar; class C felony second-degree sodomy; six years in prison, suspended, five years supervised probation, 60 days shock detention and $300 to county law enforcement restitution fund. Lee pleaded guilty to deviate sexual intercourse with a victim on the morning of Sept. 20, 2016, at his residence.

CRIMINAL CHARGES

The following new felony charges have been filed in Polk County Circuit Court:

Jacob A. Collins, 21, Brighton; class E felony resisting lawful stop; warrant issued. Collins is accused of fleeing from Pleasant Hope Police Chief Bobby Smith on Sept. 30 during a pursuit on East Mo. 215 when Collins allegedly nearly ran two vehicles off the road near Tin Town.

CIVIL ACTIONS

The following civil suits have been disposed in Polk County Circuit Court with Associate Circuit Judge Elizabeth V. Rohrs (unless otherwise noted) presiding:

Southwest Baptist University vs. Adrian Brantley, Bolivar; promissory note; default judgment against Brantley for $16,919 plus interest and attorney’s fees on Count 1; $10,286 plus interest on Count 2; and $4,350 plus interest on Count 3 (Circuit Judge Michael O. Hendrickson presiding).

POLICE REPORT

The Bolivar Police Department released the following reports for:

Monday, Oct. 2

• Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a motorcycle on suspicion of a traffic violation on Aldrich Road. The vehicle failed to yield to emergency lights and siren.

• A report of assault and property damage in the 900 block of East Mt. Gilead Road was taken.

• A past assault in the 100 block of West Hickory Street was reported.

• Animal control responded to a report of animal neglect in the 2400 block of South Springfield Avenue.

• Fraud was reported in the 400 block of East Summit Street.

• Officers responded to the 300 block of South Pike Avenue for a well-being check.

• Theft from a vehicle was reported in the 700 block of West Stewart Street.

• Officers responded to the 100 block of West South Street for a report of stolen property. Property was located and returned to owner.

• A Bolivar man was arrested on suspicion of driving while revoked near East Broadway Street and North Boston Avenue.

• A Kansas man was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended/revoked near Mo. 13 and Rt. U.

• A crash with injuries was reported at Rt. T and West Wollard Street.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

• A Willard man was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana during a traffic stop near Mo. 13 and Rt. U.

• A violation of an order of protection was reported in the 600 block of East Division Street.

• Theft was reported in the 2400 block of South Springfield Avenue.

• Violation of an ex parte was reported in the 400 block of South Springfield Avenue.

• A Bolivar man was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended/revoked during a traffic stop near Mo. 13 and Rt. U.

• Officers responded to Citizens Memorial Hospital for a report of an animal bite.

• A non-injury private property crash was reported in the 400 block of South Springfield Avenue.

• A non-injury crash was reported in the 1900 block of South Springfield Avenue.

Wednesday, Oct. 4

• Jeremy Vandyke of Fair Play was arrested on a Polk County warrant in the 200 block of West Auburn Street.

• A past harassment call was reported in the 1800 block of East Laverne Street.

• Found property was reported in the 900 block of West Broadway Street.

• A Bolivar man was arrested when officers responded to the 2200 block of West Colgate Street for a report of domestic assault.

• Pachetta Tolliver of Springfield was extradited from Greene County on warrants.

• A non-injury leaving the scene of a crash was reported on Aldrich Road.

• Courtney M. Johns, 18, of Buffalo was booked into jail on warrants for failure to affix motor vehicle plates, no insurance and possession of an open title on motor vehicle.

• Domestic assault was reported on South 117th Road, Bolivar.

• Property damage was reported on East 420th Road, Bolivar.

Tuesday, Sept. 12

• Courtnay L. Hurt, 33, of Willard was booked into jail on warrants for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

• Patrick D. McCarty, 23, of Humansville was booked into jail on a warrant for possession of marijuana.

• Shelly R. Craig, 46, of Bolivar was booked into jail on a warrant for driving without a valid license.

• Beckie L. Albitre, 31, of Bolivar was booked into jail on warrants for tampering with a vehicle.

• Domestic assault was reported on East 435th Road, Bolivar.

Wednesday, Sept. 13

• A 28-year-old Bolivar man was booked into jail on suspicion of child molestation.

• Forwarded the County Clerk’s Division of 2016 Flood Lease Funds to Treasurer Vonna Jones.

• Visited with Collector Debbi R.-McGinnis regarding surplus funds received on real estate sold at the 2016 Tax Sale.

• Met with Public Works Supervisor Crites for an update on county road conditions. Crites and Commissioner Hancock and Commissioner Legan viewed East 390th, East 380th, East 370th, East 368th, South 120th, South 118th and South 115th roads.

• Human Resources/Payroll Deputy Clerk Chelsea Jones presented payroll for approval and submittal for direct deposit. Commissioner Legan made a motion to approve payroll and submit payroll for direct deposit. Commissioner Hancock seconded the motion. Vote was 2-0 with Commissioner Austin absent.

• Visited with Darrell Decker, representative from Physicans Mutual, regarding a Missouri Affiliated Government Insurance Consortium.

• Accounts Payable Deputy Clerk Jennie Dunagan presented invoices for payment. Commissioner Legan made a motion to approve and pay invoices as presented. Commissioner Hancock seconded the motion. Vote was 2-0 with Commissioner Austin absent.
