Bolivar man charged with incest and rape

A 42-year-old man from Bolivar faces felony rape charges after allegedly having deviate sexual intercourse with a minor on or between January 1, 2022 and June 21, 2022, knowing that the minor was his descendant by blood and was incapable of consent to sexual contact.

According to the arrest warrant, Ronald R. Radford is charged in Polk County Circuit Court with four counts unclassified rape felonies, one for statutory rape (or attempted statutory rape) in the first-degree, one for statutory sodomy (or attempted statutory sodomy) in the first-degree, one for rape (or attempted rape) in the first degree, and one for sodomy (or attempted sodomy) in the first degree – all regarding a victim less than 12 years of age.

“The range of punishment for this unclassified felony of statutory rape in the first degree is imprisonment in the custody of Missouri Department of Corrections for life imprisonment or a term of years not less than ten (10) years,” as stated on the felony indictment.

Radford was also charged with one count class B felony first-degree sexual abuse of a victim less than 14 years of age, and one count class E incest.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office website states that Radford was booked into jail on Friday, Sept. 23.

His bond was set at $500,000 cash or approved surety.

Radford’s initial arraignment was held on Monday, Sept. 26, and will be continued at his next court date on Monday, Oct. 3, per online court records.
