The Bolivar Police Department is searching for a suspect after shots were fired in a neighborhood this afternoon.
According to Lt. Roger Barron, there was a dispute "between two males who knew each other" at around 4 p.m. on Fair Play Street in Bolivar.
"During the dispute, the suspect fired a single shot toward the victim, striking the victim's vehicle," Barron said.
No one was hurt, he said. The suspect then fled the scene.
"We are lucky the suspect hit the vehicle as there was a daycare in the line of fire," he said. "It could have been absolutley tragic. We're very thankful no one was injured."
Barron said officers have identified the suspect, but the person is still at large. He did not provide the suspect's identity at this time.
He said law enforcement does not believe there is a continued threat to the community.
