COM has NAP tax credits available for MO businesses

Posted

Qualifying Missouri businesses can receive a 70% tax credit when donating $1,000 or more to Community Outreach Ministries while credits remain available.

Through the Missouri Department of Economic Development, these Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits are awarded when Missouri businesses “redirect a portion of their state taxes to qualified local nonprofits,” as stated on COM’s website.

These donations will be used for renovating and expanding the COM facility, which is projected to add seven new offices, a meeting room, and an elevator for improved accessibility and increased space for expanding programs.

Businesses will need to claim NAP tax credits on their state tax returns within the tax year the donation was made plus five succeeding tax years.

To donate (cash or stocks) to COM or to see if your business qualifies to receive NAP tax credits, contact info@bolivarcom.org or 417-326-2769 ext. 1506. Completed applications will be submitted to the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) for approval, and tax credit certifications for businesses will be sent to COM and forwarded to the donor.

Visit bolivarcom.org for more information, and learn more about NAP credits on DED's website at ded2.mo.gov/nap.
