The annual Community Play Day, hosted by Polk County Community Connections, will take place on Saturday, June 3.
In keeping with the City of Bolivar’s 100-year celebration of the Dunnegan Memorial Park, the event will take place at the park. It will be a come-and-go event, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending around noon.
The Community Play Day is an event where local organizations and groups of Polk County gather together to share resources with area residents and provide games and activities for children.
Organizations at the Community Play Day will include mental health providers, recovery groups, senior citizen assistance groups, local first responders, the area farmers market, and more. Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce, Polk County Humane Society, Polk County Library, Christian Motorcyclists Association, and other organizations will also be available to provide information at the event, said Community Connections board member Carol Bookhout.
Polk County KLIFE will provide music at the event, and residents of Butterfield will host a craft activity at the first pavilion. Polk County Health Center will also have a booth to distribute information about WIC, along with other health-related resources.
Registration on the day of the event will take place at the first pavilion. People who register will be given a resource card, and upon check-in, each person’s name will be entered into a drawing for a raffle prize.
