SBU Concert Series Presents: Joshua Ganger and Sunghwan Kim

Southwest Baptist University presents a concert series featuring Joshua Ganger and Sunghwan Kim in a trumpet and piano duet. The concert will be held on Sunday, November 6, at 3 p.m. in the Meyer Recital Hall.

Ganger is a Powell Trumpet Artist and performs on a Powell Custom B-flat Trumpet, C Trumpet, and Flugelhorn. Currently, Ganger serves as Principal Trumpet with the Symphony of the Lakes.

He has previously performed with the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, South Bend Symphony Orchestra, Alma Symphony Orchestra, and Marion Philharmonic Orchestra. Ganger currently serves on faculty at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Dr. Sunghwan Kim has toured extensively in the U.S and abroad, as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist. A native of South Korea, Mr. Kim began the study of piano at age 6, and quickly rose as one of his generation’s most versatile musicians. He majored in music composition at Hanyang University, and later transferred to Chugye University for the Arts as a piano performance major, earning his B.M. and summa cum laude status. He also served as pianist for the Republic of Korea Air Force Band for 27 months.
