Share Your Christmas registration begins October 31

Preparation for Polk County Christian Social Ministries’ annual Share Your Christmas program is underway. This is the 38th year for PCCSM to sponsor Share Your Christmas.

What began as giving out a single bag of groceries to families in need in 1985, the program has grown into an abundance of gifts for every child as well as gift bags for adults and groceries for the families.

The next two months will be filled with the activities of many churches, civic groups, organizations, schools, and individuals to provide food and gifts for families who qualify.

Distribution dates have been set for Wednesday, Dec. 14 and Thursday, Dec. 15.

Registration opens on Monday, Oct. 31. Those wishing to register can pick up an application at the PCCSM free store, or COM. Complete and submit the application, along with proof of residency, to the PCCSM free store located at 327 S Springfield Ave. where they will be given a distribution voucher.

Registration will be held each Monday and Wednesday beginning Monday, Oct. 31 and continue through Wednesday, Nov. 30 during open hours (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at the free store.

Applicants may also register online. A link to the application will be posted Monday, Oct. 31 on the Share Your Christmas Polk Co. MO Facebook page.

Volunteers are needed for the week of distribution to help set up, sort and sack. Cart pushers will be needed on Wednesday and Thursday. If you would like to volunteer, call PCCSM at 417-326-7179 on any Monday or Wednesday during open hours.
