Sidewalk improvements scheduled for Jan.-Apr.

Posted

The Missouri Department of Transportation recently began their scheduled maintenance on sidewalks in Bolivar as part of recent work in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to a social media post by the City of Bolivar, repairs began on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and will continue to Monday, Apr. 3. They will take place along Mo. 32 (Broadway St.) from Mo. 13 to Rt. D and along Mo. 83 (Springfield Ave.) from Mo. 32 to Mo. 13.

“At times, driveways and business entrances may be gravel as crews repair and modify sections of sidewalks,” the social media post said. “Contractor crews, working with the businesses, will ensure access to all businesses remain open during the work.”

In order to allow drivers to access properties, temporary gravel driveways may be provided, and workers may replace concrete for driveways in half sections.

Drivers will need to remain cautious as they travel over gravel driveways and encounter flaggers and lane drops at work sites.

Because no signed detours are planned, drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.

For more information about road closures and traffic impacts, view the MoDOT Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org/map/index.html. The work schedule may change due to poor weather conditions or construction delays.
