Woman injured in Polk County wreck

A woman from Osceola was hurt in a single-car crash at around 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, in
Polk County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Elisha A. Waugh, 35, was
southbound on Highway 13, approximately one mile south of Brighton, in a silver 2008 Nissan
Rogue when she lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the roadway, striking a group of
trees.

Waugh, who the report stated was not wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries. She was
transported from the scene by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

The report stated the vehicle was totaled and left at the scene.
