Southwest Baptist University conferred 286 undergraduate degrees during two ceremonies Friday, May 19, and 176 graduate degrees during a ceremony Saturday, May 20, in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center on the Bolivar campus. more
Last year, Bolivar School District began installing new weatherproof doors with increased strength and longevity. With the recent grant award, the district will continue to replace worn out doors with more secure doors.

The Missouri State Board of Nursing has awarded Southwest Baptist University nearly $300,000 in grant money to enhance and grow the SBU nursing programs on both the Bolivar and Springfield campuses. more

Bolivar High School hosted its inaugural “Decision Day” on Friday, May 5, to honor the 201 high school seniors who have recently announced their college, career, or military plans. In addition to families, community members, and school faculty, Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson and Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven attended the ceremony to honor the Bolivar Class of 2023 and to promote education and career success. more

BHS to host inaugural “Decision Day” event
Graduating students of Bolivar High School will be honored at the school’s Decision Day event at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 5 in the high school auditorium. The ceremony will celebrate the BHS graduates’ plans after high school – whether they enroll in college, prepare for their career, or enlist in the military. more

BTC to host Spring Food Trucks
Bolivar Technical College is inviting the community to their upcoming Spring Food Trucks event. Food trucks will start serving food at 11 a.m., rain or shine, on the BTC campus, located at 1135 N Oakland Ave., across from Citizens Memorial Hospital. This year, some new food truck options will be available. more

Thursday, Feb. 16, students and members of the school board, along with Bolivar school faculty, joined Dr. Asbill in the official groundbreaking for the new FEMA building to be located at Bolivar Middle School.
