Just like their custard, the ground was frozen for their groundbreaking on Tuesday, Jan. 31. But that didn’t stop the dirt from flying in preparation for the new Freddy’s coming to Bolivar. According to Warren Lovinger, owner of Freddy’s, the target completion date for the restaurant is late this summer. more

Jackie Selle is originally from Bolivar, but now lives in St. Louis County. She was visiting family when she decided to stop by the Polk County Humane Society or PCHS. A domestic, short-haired cat named Molasses caught her eye, and she decided to adopt him. Once home, she renamed him Merlin. more
