A Fair Play man faces a felony rape charge following a report of a sexual assault this winter.
According to online court records, Nathaniel Brian Linerode, 18, is charged with felony first-degree rape.
The probable cause statement said a Polk County deputy, who also works as a school resource officer, took a report of a possible sexual assault in December.
Through the investigation, the victim told detectives Linerode, who was acquainted with her family, assaulted her on three different occasions.
In the first instance, Linerode allegedly tried to kiss the victim while following her and a friend down the road.
“The victim stated when she told Nathaniel Linerode no, he threatened them and stated he could make them disappear and no one would ever know,” the statement said.
The statement said Linerode again tried to kiss the victim and then exposed himself to her at a residence.
In another instance at the same residence, Linerode forcibly raped the victim while she told him to stop.
While the felony complaint requests a $150,000 bond, a warrant carrying a $30,000 bond has been issued for his arrest.
If convicted, Linerode could serve anywhere from five years to life in prison, the complaint said.
