Agnes Johnson

Agnes Ruth Marshall Johnson, 91 of Bolivar passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at the home of her son Jerry Baughman in Clinton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brice and Pearl Marshall, and two sisters, Ruby and Doris Jean.

She was born April 2, 1928, in Harrison, Arkansas. Ruth graduated from Bergman H.S. in May 1946. 

In September 1946, she married T.J. Baughman. To their marriage were born two children, Jerry Baughman and Joy Russell.

Ruth is survived by her son Jerry and wife Donna Baughman of Clinton and daughter Joy and husband Barry Russell of Bolivar; grandchildren Michael and wife Renee Russell, Mark Russell, Dustin and wife Lacey Russell, Nikki and husband Lance Anderson, Sherri and husband Chad Preston, and Scott and wife Leanne Baughman. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.

Ruth worked at Levi Strauss as a presser in Harrison, Arkansas, for many years and at TWA Stewardess Training Center in Kansas City. 

She was a very independent lady. She had the sweetest heart and a deep love of family. She loved gardening, quilting, crocheting, basket weaving and many other different types of crafts. 

She had a love for dancing from the time she was a little girl until 90 years old. You would often find her dancing at the YMCA in Bolivar every Saturday night.

The family would like to thank the staff of Citizens Memorial Hospital Hospice Care of Bolivar and Twin Lakes Hospice Care of Clinton for the excellent care and support Ruth received the last few weeks.

A visitation will be at 10 a.m., with a memorial service following at 10:30, Saturday, June 8, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar with the Rev. Jerry Baughman officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
