Local McDonald’s restaurants are now accepting nominations for a new McDonald’s Agriculture Awards Program. Now through March 22, members of the community can nominate students studying agriculture to be considered for one of ten $500 scholarships. Nominations can be submitted online at surveymonkey.com/r/mcdagawards.

The Polk County Genealogical Society (PCGS) will once again be offering the service of placing flowers on graves for Memorial Day. Orders may be made from March 1 through May 1, 2023. The choices for flowers will be either a small spray placed by the stone or a saddle placed over the top of the stone. The cost for the saddle is $50 and the bouquet is $20. Deliveries can be made to cemeteries in Polk County.

The City of Bolivar’s board of aldermen hired Thomas Relford as the new city administrator in a special meeting Friday, March 10.

CMH presented a $23,815 check to Don Garrison, RT, CMH Missouri Sleep Institute, and his family on Monday, March 13. Don’s daughter, Moxie, has Marfan Syndrome and is scheduled for a life-saving open heart surgery in London next month. Donations were given by Citizens Memorial physicians, staff, volunteers, board members and friends of the organization.

The 7th annual Bolivar Dancing With The Stars All-Class Prom and Project Graduation Fundraiser will be at Bolivar High School at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 8. The event normally draws a crowd of 1,500 fans. It always provides lots of fun for all the family, while helping raise money for prom and project graduation for the Bolivar High School students.
