The following new felony charges have been filed in Polk County Circuit Court:

Harlan Lee Harrison II, born 1981, Bolivar; class E felony possession of burglary tools, class D felony second-degree burglary; arraignment scheduled; due in court May 29. 

Michael John Thomas Keith, born 1991, Humansville; class E felony escape or attempted escape from confinement, class E felony damage to jail or jail property; arraignment scheduled; due in court May 20.

CIVIL ACTIONS

The following civil suits have been disposed in Polk County Circuit Court with Associate Circuit Judge Elizabeth V. Rohrs (unless otherwise noted) presiding:

Josh Smith, Bolivar, vs. Natasha Marie Crowe, Bolivar; administrative order with hearing; other final disposition; judgment entered.

Paul A. Gonzales DDS LLC, Bolivar, vs. Jason Helmer, Stockton; small claims; judgment entered against Helmer for $743 plus court costs.

Alan Keith Whitworth, Springfield, and All American Rental, Bolivar, vs. Nicholas Angelo Quaranta, Bolivar; small claims; consent judgment against Quaranta for $505 plus court costs.

Theodore Curtiss Triplett Jr., Bolivar; child protection; consent judgment against Triplett for order of protection.

Mark Allen Knoll, Stockton, vs. Kenneth E. Larson, Humansville and Tilley Larson, Humansville; mechanics lien; judgment entered, other final disposition.

American Contractors Indemnity Company, Los Angeles, California, vs. Hovey Homes LLC Et Al, Goodnight; breach of contract; default judgment hearing scheduled.

COMMISSION MINUTES

According to the minutes, Polk County Commissioners Shannon Hancock, Rex Austin and Kyle Legan conducted the following business during recent meetings of the commission:

Monday, April 22

  • Hancock, Legan and Austin present.
  • Minutes of last session approved.
  • Public Works Supervisor Danny Crites updated the commission on county road conditions.
  • Crites and Legan viewed South 20th, South 80th and East 318th roads.
  • Legan made a motion to accept bid from Vince Thockmorton to sell sheriff vehicle No. 1 for $501.00. Vote unanimous.
  • Austin made a motion to accept the bids from James Csizmesia to sell sheriff’s vehicles No. 2 and No. 3 for $425.00 each. Vote unanimous. Larry Hayward had bid $226 for each vehicle.
  • Angie Snyder, Ozark Headwaters Recycling and Material District Planner and Michelle Morris, Director of Polk County Health Center visited with the commission regarding recycling grants and equipment.

Tuesday, April 23

  • Hancock, Legan and Austin present.
  • Minutes of last session approved.
  • Payroll approved.
  • Crites updated the commission on county road conditions.
  • Hancock and Legan attended the District “O” Meeting in Springfield.
  • Appointment of John Johnson as Deputy Sheriff was received from Sheriff Danny Morrison and was approved by 30th Circuit Court Judge Michael O. Hendrickson.
  • Appointment of Raed Elmansy as Reserve Deputy Sheriff was received from Sheriff Danny Morrison and approved by 30th Circuit Court Judge Michael O. Hendrickson.

Friday, April 26

  • Hancock, Legan and Austin present.
  • Minutes of last session approved.
  • Oaths of Office administered to Jared Reed, Prairie Heights Reorganized Common Sewer District Trustee, and Carley Rice, Humansville Special Road District Commissioner.
  • Dixie Means, Morrisville, visited with the commission and Sheriff Danny Morrison regarding the Richard B. Keith Estate.
  • Austin made a motion to enter into the Opioid Litigation Engagement Agreement.Legan seconded the motion. Vote unanimous.
  • A Certificate of Training was received from Collector Debbi McGinnis for completing 20 hours of training per 52.269 RSMo.
  • Crites updated the commission on county roads.
  • Crites, Hancock and Legan viewed South 165th, East 365th, South 225th, East 383rd and East 435th roads.
  • Invoices presented for approval and payment. Austin made a motion to approve and pay invoices as presented. Legan seconded. Vote unanimous.
