Bell ringing season ends soon

Posted

Winter weather is on its way, so this season of bell ringing at Walmart and Woods Supermarket will be coming to an earlier end on Thursday, Dec. 22.

Bell ringing had initially been set to end on Christmas Eve. While bell ringers may not be seen much longer, counter kettles at local stores will still be available to accept donations. Volunteers have a limited amount of time to sign up for a bell ringing time slot by registering at bolivarcom.org/bellringing.

Businesses and organizations with counter kettles include Westlake Ace Hardware, Creator Delights, Rocco’s Pizza, El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant, Little Caesars Pizza, Master Wongs, Shoe Sensation, Woods Supermarket, Compassion Thrift, Sweet Kayle Soup & Salad Bar, El Tres Amigos, May’s Corner, Vault Coffee, Bolivar Recreation & Aquatic Center, Fast & Friendly (east and west locations), Modern Barber Shop, and Hannah’s General Store (of Fair Play).

Eighty-five percent of donations to the Red Kettle Campaign benefit Polk County families with fuel, rent, utilities and other needs. The fundraising goal for this year is $22,000. Donations to the Red Kettle Campaign can also be made online bolivarcom.org/bellringing.
