Posted

Bolivar Rotary Club is hosting the 43rd annual Celebration of Freedom on Tuesday, July 4, on the Southwest Baptist University campus. The community event begins at 5:30 p.m. and continues through fireworks at dusk.

“Guests will enjoy entertainment, food, veteran recognition and, of course, fireworks,” said Daniel Leith, president of the Bolivar Rotary Club.

Food vendors open at 5:30 p.m. Musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. by The Shuffle Cats. Tumbles Gymnastics will perform at 7:10 p.m. Boy Scouts Troop No. 376 and the American Legion will assist with the presentation of colors and recognition of veterans.

Raise money for your non-profit organization

Area non-profit organizations are invited to set up food booths during the Celebration of Freedom. Vendors keep all the money they earn to support their missions.

Download a vendor booth registration form at www.BolivarRotary.club. For more information, call or text Ed Kurtz at 417-327-7645 or send an email to ed@dgaltdonline.com.

Make a donation

Celebration of Freedom is possible because of many businesses and individuals making financial contributions to the event. Mail a donation to the Bolivar Rotary Club at PO Box 296, Bolivar MO 65613 or donate online at www.BolivarRotary.club.

“Local businesses and community members make this great event possible with their financial support,” Leith said. “The whole community benefits from their generosity.”

Donations offset event costs and go back to the community in the form of contributions to local non-profits, leadership opportunities and training for local youth, international youth exchanges, and other community-related funding.

What happens if it rains

In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks only will be held the next evening with favorable weather. Information about any changes due to weather will be posted at bolivarrotary.club and the Rotary Club of Bolivar Missouri Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BolivarMoRotary.
