Posted

Know any kids or kids at heart who love vehicles of all kinds? Dream of driving a police car, fire truck or dump truck some day? Just like to learn about cool stuff? If so, the

City of Bolivar has the perfect event for you!

The City is hosting its first Touch a Truck! event from 3-6 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the Bolivar Recreation & Aquatic Center, 1710 W. Broadway St.

During the event, different kinds of vehicles will line up down the old airport runway for kids and adults to look at and touch.

The first hour, from 3-4 p.m., will be sensory sensitive, so there will be no lights or sirens during that time.

The Bolivar Police Department, Bolivar City Fire Department, Bolivar Public Works Department, Polk County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, U.S. Army, Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar Ready Mix, Southwest Electric Cooperative, Liberty Utilities, Warwick Electric, Rains & Martin School Bus Barn and more have signed up to join in the Touch a Truck! event.

Concessions will be available for purchase.

Don't miss this one-of-a-kind event!
