City to host Park Clean Up Day at Dunnegan in honor of park’s centennial

Posted

The City of Bolivar is hosting its Park Clean Up Day at Dunnegan event at the end of May.

The community is invited to join City staff from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 27, to help with important projects at Dunnegan Memorial Park.

Participants will work alongside the City of Bolivar Parks and Recreation Department and Community Development team to clean trash from the park's stream and lake, as well as clean up sticks and branches that have fallen in recent severe weather.

These projects will go a long way to help beautify the grounds, City Administrator Thomas Relford said.

“We are so proud of our crown jewel park, which officially turned 100 years old in February,” said Relford. “So, we want to show our nearly 45-acre landmark some love.”

He noted the clean up day is a great event to give back to Bolivar’s beloved park.

Watch the City of Bolivar, Missouri Facebook page for updates on this event, or call City Hall at 417-326-2489 for more information.
