Community Connections meeting Nov. 3 – Polk County Homeless Task Force to provide program
The November Polk County Community Connections breakfast meeting will feature a panel discussion about homelessness in Polk County. The meeting begins at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 in the fellowship hall of the Bolivar First Christian Church, 407 W. Broadway, Bolivar.
Entrance is on the east side of the church. A free breakfast is provided.
Panelists from the Polk County Homeless Task Force will present updates on the current status of the homeless population in the county as well as efforts in place to address to homelessness.
“The panelists will share what the task force has been observing about homelessness in our Polk County and some of the solutions they have been working on,” says Community Connections Social Health Task Team Leader Micah Titterington. Titterington, who is the director of Community Outreach Ministries, Bolivar Police Chief Mark Webb and CMH Addiction Recovery Program Manager Christina Bravata will be on the panel.
The Community Connections meeting lasts 60 to 90 minutes, but those attending may leave as needed to get to work or school. Those attending are encouraged to bring materials and information about their business, school, organization, agency, or church to share with others.
Community Connections is a non-for-profit 501c3 organization supported by a coalition of volunteers, churches, businesses, agencies, educators, and health care providers from throughout Polk County. Community Connections partners with these coalition members to help improve the overall mental, physical, spiritual, social, educational, and economic health of Polk County families. Meetings are open to the public.
