Community Connections meeting Thursday, Aug. 3

Posted

The August Polk County Community Connections breakfast meeting is at 7:30 a.m. this Thursday, Aug. 3, in the community room at Citizens Memorial Hospital, 1500 N. Oakland, Bolivar. A free breakfast is provided.

Superintendents, educators and representatives from Polk County public, private and homeschool organizations will provide a program on education in Polk County.

“The summer has gone quickly and it’s just about time for back to school,” says Community Connections President Bill Nichols. “Hearing directly from these school officials about updates, changes and needs at their schools will help us have a better understanding of how we can better support our students. I really encourage all to come. Our schools and our students are extremely important to the success and future of our communities.”

The Community Connections meeting lasts 60 to 90 minutes, but those attending may leave as needed to get to work or school. Those attending are encouraged to bring materials and information about their business, school, organization, agency, or church to share with others.

Community Connections is a non-for-profit 501c3 organization supported by a coalition of volunteers, churches, businesses, agencies, educators, and health care providers from throughout Polk County. Community Connections partners with these coalition members to help improve the overall mental, physical, spiritual, social, educational, and economic health of Polk County families. Meetings are open to the public.
