The Polk County Genealogical Society is offering a new service for this year’s upcoming Memorial Day on Monday, May 30.
For those who live out of the area or are unable to visit cemeteries, PCGS members will take orders for flowers to be placed on loved ones’ graves for the holiday.
The organization will take orders through Saturday, April 23.
Flowers will be placed on graves between Friday, May 20, and Monday, May 30, and will not be removed after the holiday.
Cemeteries the society will serve include Bolivar City, Crestview, Dunnegan, Flemington, Greenwood, Humansville, Mt. Gilead, Morrisville, Mt. Olive, Payne, Pleasant Ridge, Plum Grove, Reed, Rondo and Salem.
Arrangements available for purchase include a saddle for $50 or a push-in for $20. Colors of the flowers will vary.
