Many Christmas traditions and events are coming to the people of Polk County. Embrace the magic of the season as Santa Claus makes his way to the local area, and enjoy craft shows, plays, and other activities to make some holiday memories.

Christmas Bazaar at First ChristianBolivar First Christian Church will host their annual Christmas Bazaar at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Soup and chili will be served at the event, and attendees will be able to shop for various homemade goods, crafts, and more.

Boot Country Christmas ShowThis year, the Boot Country Christmas Show will be held at the Bolivar Recreation & Aquatic Center’s gymnasium on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Visitors can come to the event between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to shop from 50 local vendors and small business owners. Booths include crafts, baked goods, art, and more.

A special appearance will be made by Santa during the event.

Christmas Parade in Fair PlayThe City of Fair Play will hold the “Olde Time Christmas” parade on Saturday, Dec. 10, starting at noon.

After the parade, Fair Play City Hall will be serving hot cocoa and taking pictures with Santa.

Vendors and organizations will also be setting up booths outside of city hall, and over 40 participants will be featured in the parade.

Bolivar Pentecostal Church presents Christmas play“O Christmas Where Art Thou?” written by Gwendolyn Miller will be performed by Bolivar PCG church members. The play will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec.11.

The church is located at 329 West High Street, Bolivar. Pastor Daryl Miller and the church family extend their welcome for everyone to come join them for a night of fun and celebrating the miracle of salvation and the joys of Christmas.

Santa at Sullivan BankChildren of all ages are welcome to get a free picture with Santa at Sullivan Bank in Pleasant Hope.

Santa will make his appearance from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16. Pets are also allowed in the pictures.
