The community is welcome to attend a book signing for local author Jim Jones at 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 19 in the Southwest Baptist University Campus Store.
Jones’ debut novel, Utopia Reimagined, will be released on June 6, 2023 by Mascot Books. According to a recent press release, the novel “inspires deep thought about what constitutes the ‘perfect’ world and if a perfect society is even possible,” delving into topics about economics, religion, and politics.
In the book, an eighteenth-century French peasant experiences life in two different environments — one in the fictional and poverty-stricken city of Santosa and the other in a modern-day, power-driven New York City.
Jim Jones is the founder and managing member of Sterling Investment Advisors LLC. He has advised clients on wealth management for 27 years. He was a former professor of business administration at SBU, where he taught economics and finance. He was also deemed the winner of the 1990 Orien B. Hendrix Distinguished Teacher Award.
The SBU Campus Store is located in the SBU Student Union next to the Marketplace Dining Hall on the Bolivar campus.
