SBU presents Dance on Bones play

Posted

Southwest Baptist University Theatre will present Dance on Bones at 7 p.m. April 27-30 on the SBU-Bolivar campus.

Dance on Bones is a unique play by David White, set in a world similar to our own. This "jazz libretto" draws inspiration from New Orleans and St. Petersburg. Dealing with themes of worldwide disaster, art, and control, each night, the audience will be given the choice of the order of scenes to create a unique theater experience you won’t want to miss.

"Dance on Bones is a unique play that highlights several of my favorite aspects of theatre: audience involvement, integral music, and challenging subject matter," said Jonathan Wehmeyer, Assistant Professor of Theatre at SBU. "Since libraries are spaces for collaborative research, we have set the audience on stage. This arrangement allows them to experience the story from odd points of view and to connect with others beside and across from them. There is limited space for this production, only 45 seats per performance, so it's important to get your tickets today."

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased in person at the Box Office or online at SBUniv.edu/theatre. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for senior citizen/military tickets, and $8 for students/children (under 13).
