A man from Stockton died as a result of a recent single-vehicle crash about three miles northwest of Aldrich on Saturday, Feb. 25.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Caleb L. Mantonya, 40, was pronounced dead at around 7:36 p.m. by Dr. Butuila at Citizens Memorial Hospital.
The report stated Mantonya was eastbound in a 2000 Ford F150 at Highpoint Boat Ramp Access on Stockton Lake, when the vehicle rolled backwards into the lake and was immersed in the water.
The report stated the Ford was totaled and was towed from the scene by A&J Towing of Bolivar.
Mantonya’s death was Troop D’s 12th fatality of 2023, the report stated. Next of kin has been notified.
