Friday afternoon, Oct. 11, the SBU Women’s soccer team started off their road weekend with another conference matchup. They faced Quincy University and came away with a 1-0 win, defeating the hawks for the first time since 2014.

Protect The Harvest will cease operations effective Oct. 31, 2024, citing ongoing funding challenges that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization was created in 2011 as a non-profit educational and advocacy effort to promote and defend American farmers and ranchers, improve food security, protect property rights, ensure animal welfare, and support outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing. Protect The Harvest has focused on informing stakeholders about important issues, protecting against a myriad of ongoing threats and responding when appropriate.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol would like to inform the public of upcoming changes to the driver license testing process. In preparation for the transition, driver examination stations throughout the state will close at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, and all-day Nov. 8, 2024. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, following the Veterans Day holiday. Driver examination testing facilities will be closed due to converting to a modernized system, directly integrated into the Department of Revenue’s new driver license system. The Polk County Democrats will be meeting at Flat Creek Restaurant in Bolivar for their Oct. 21 meeting. Dinner is optional at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting following at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Matt Patterson, Missouri Democratic Party Executive Director. He was unable to attend our last meeting due to illness and is excited to join us for our October meeting. Matt will present the latest news of all Democratic candidates across the state and where they are in the campaigns and how to volunteer.
